QR codes bridge the physical world and the digital one. This experiment teaches you how to read the warning signs in a link before you follow it — an educational safety tool, not a guarantee that anything is safe.

QR codes themselves are not inherently dangerous. The risk comes from the destination they send you to.
A QR code can send someone to a website designed to imitate a legitimate login page.
A QR code placed over a legitimate payment code could redirect payments somewhere unexpected.
QR codes in public locations can potentially be covered, replaced, or modified.
Unlike a normal visible URL, users often cannot see where a QR code leads before scanning it.
A sign saying "SCAN NOW — ACCOUNT WILL BE CLOSED" should encourage users to slow down rather than act immediately.

A clean result does not prove that a destination is safe, and a warning does not automatically mean a website is malicious. When dealing with passwords, financial information, or other sensitive data, verify the destination through a trusted source.
